Cola Pork Rib

Can I just say...I was terribly disappointed with the recipe I got from one of the local mag.
It was featured prob a year back and has been lovingly kept in my file, to be used until the occassion calls for it. In the write up, the image was one of a lovely colour, ribs done till slightly brown at the edges...pretty much like the western ribs.
But guess what I got at the end of day? More like cola braised ribs...
Recipe
500grams of pork ribs
One can of cola
1-2 tbsp of char siew sauce
Marinate pork ribs in cola and char siwe sauce in pot for abt 1 hr.
After which, bring to boil, cover and simmer on low heat for another hour, until ribs are cooked till tender.
Result? Like I mentioned above, it tasted like braised ribs, a little too sweet cos of the sugar from cola and abit like braised char siew.
Me thinks the magazine probably posted a wrong picture...hahaha..
