Back in the kitchen
Tomatoe/Onion Omelette with pan fried mushrooms, sausages, ham, garlic toast and fresh salad. My first time back in the kitchen after giving birth. Nothing fancy because with a new baby plus I am really new at this mummy business, cooking anything fancy or too interesting will be quite impossible. So I made brunch..with the idea of eating it at 12pm on a Sat, but ended up eating it at 2pm. Diaper change, crying baby, hungry baby...blah blah blah...nothing goes according to our plan these days. Baby "plans" everything for us.
I have also been a bad mummy....I drank coffee! Why bad, cos my baby's on total breastfeeding! Caffeine's no good for little ones but I read that if there is a 2 hrs laspe in between each nursing session, it's ok to indulge just a little bit. Problem is my baby nurse on average every 1-2 hours, so I have no idea when he will be next screaming for his milk. So what have I been doing for 2 consecutive days? I gave up 2 hours of sleep (after the 7am feed) just to drink 0.5 cup of pretty diluted 3 in 1 coffee. What bliss! And just in case my body takes longer to rid the caffeine and if the little one gets hungry in less than 2 hours, I've got a bottle of expressed milk on standby. Yes....I am desperate.
